A Fabulous and Sordid History

SuperEgo Comedy was founded by Michelle Dobrawsky and Dale Sorenson in early 2006. We started as a scrappy, fun, enthusiastic standup comedy show in a Rock 'n' Roll bar on the Lower East Side. Since then we've expanded our operations and now make our home at New York Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club.

In 5 years, SuperEgo has featured over 1,000 comics in over 250 shows. We provide the best and brightest rising talent of the New York comedy scene a place to grow and develop, and are proud to feature their talents in fabulous showcases and on SuperEgo TV.

Michelle Dobrawsky

Michelle Dobrawsky is clearly not normal. She has far more advanced degrees, jobs and email accounts than you.

Michelle has the attention span of a chihuahua and the grace of a Newfoundland; she is not, however, a 'dog person.' She is a comic, producer, actor, improvisor, writer, musician, crafter, wrestler, baker, do-gooder, attorney and woman-about-town.

Michelle enjoys cheese, boots and strongman competitions. She dislikes olives, flip flops and most mythical creatures.

Dale Sorenson

Dale Sorenson is a comedian, poi artist, fire performer, technologist, photographer and writer on a personal quest to be the gayest nerd on the planet.

When not wearing his thumbs down to little nubs playing video games or crawling though dark bars in search of drunken Swedish ballet dancers, Dale plays the New York City stand-up comedy scene like a seasoned bus station hustler. He has appeared on MTV, Showtime and The Style Network and has a thing for Filipinos in Spiderman Underoos.
